Bobble

The bobble stitch creates a decorative "bump" in
your knitting. They are usually arranged in a
geometrical pattern or may be figurative, for example
representing cherries in a bowl. The bumpy fabric it
creates can be cute in hats, purses, sweaters, etc. It
is created by making multiple knit or e-wap stitches on
the peg. There are many different methods you can use
to knit a bobble, two are discussed below. Even though
both have many steps but both are very easy to work.
- Wrap the peg five times so that there are
six wraps on it.
- Knit the bottom wrap off over the five
other wraps.
- Knit the bottom wrap off over the four
other wraps.
- Knit the bottom wrap off over the three
other wraps.
- Knit the bottom wrap off over the two other
wraps.
- Knit the bottom wrap off over the top wrap.
- With the knitting tool, move the remaining
wrap to the next peg to hold it there.
- Reach down behind the loom and grab the
first stitch you knit off in step 2 and place
it on the empty peg.
- Move the wrap you moved in step 7 back onto
the peg.
The wrap that had been on the bottom is now on the top.
- Knit off the bottom wrap over the top wrap.
Steps 9-10 will tighten the bobble.
- E-wrap and knit off the peg where the
bobble will be.
- Repeat step 1 four more times so that you
will have knit five stitches on that peg.
- With the knitting tool, move the remaining
wrap to the next peg to hold it there.
- Reach down behind the loom and grab the
first stitch you knit off in step 1 and place
it on the empty peg.
- Move the wrap you moved in step 3 back onto
the peg.
The wrap that had been on the bottom is now on the top.
- Knit off the bottom wrap over the top wrap.
Steps 5-6 will tighten the bobble.
