Gather Bind-off Method
The Gather bind-off method is used on circular knitting to close the end of the knitting by gathering. Combine it with a ski cast-on to create a ball.
Tools needed
- Round Loom or Rake
- Tapestry needle

- When you having finished knitting your
project to the desired length, wrap the working
yarn around the loom once (for measurement) and
cut the working yarn leaving a long tail.
- Thread the tail through the tapestry
needle.
- Starting with peg 1, take the tapestry
needle under the loop and up the peg taking the
loop off the peg.
- Repeat step 3 with each peg going around
the loom in a clockwise direction.
- Once all of the pegs have been threaded and
the piece is off of the loom, turn the piece
inside out.
- Gently pull the yarn until the piece
gathers tightly together.
- Using the tapestry needle pull the needle
through a stitch on the other side and tie a
knot to secure.
- Weave the tail through stitches in the hat.
